  • The average low temperature is 63 degrees. The record low for the summer months was 36 degrees in 1969.
  • The average precipitation level is approximately 5.5 inches per month during the summer season.

  • Folk Life Festival Join in the fun as you’re transported back in time at Unicoi State Park on Friday and Saturday July 26 and 27. You can learn about the folk arts of candle dipping, blacksmithing, and spinning. There are fun old-fashioned games and dancing planned as well as plenty of delicious food and drink options for sale. Your entire family can enjoy live music on both Friday and Saturday nights with a hoedown to follow. Parking costs five dollars and you can participate in the hayride and gold panning program for just two dollars per person.
  • Dahlonega Firecracker 5K/10K If you are staying in one of the many beautiful rental cabins in North Georgia this Fourth of July, you won’t want to miss the Family Celebration and Firecracker Run in Dahlonega. The 5K and 10K runs are a part of a much bigger celebration and kick off a day full of fun activities. You can register online for the 5K, 10K, and Fun Run. Your registration fee includes a technical shirt, course entertainment, and after race festivities. All proceeds from the run go to the cost of Dahlonega’s evening fireworks show.
  • Habersham Community Theater presents Gypsy The Habersham Community Theater is proud to present “Gypsy” August 1-4 and 8-11. Come and enjoy the story based loosely on the story of Gypsy Rose Lee and her maniacal stage mother Rose. The musical focuses on Rose and her obsession with raising her two daughters to be Vaudeville super stars. Tickets can be purchased online for all performances.Bike Rentals
  • Tour de la Cave Yonah Mountain Vineyards is proud to offer the Tour de la Cave and Barrel Sampling during the month of August. Join winemaker Joe Smith and owner Bob Miller on a tour of the winery and explore Georgia’s only wine cave. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the unique experience of barrel sampling the vineyard’s future vintage varieties. The Yonah Mountain Vineyards are on a 197 acre privately held estate and supply some of the region’s most delicious wine varieties. Tours are $25 per person and begin at noon.
