Things to do in Helen, Georgia revolve around those mountains and the natural scenery. This is Spring Break territory for those who like to stretch their limbs, breathe deep, and feel nature up close and personal.

Helen Georgia Festivals That Put An Extra “Spring” In Your Step

All these things to do on your trip to Helen Georgia in the Spring season can create fonder memories. With the temperatures rising, and new life blossoming all around, Helen invites you to celebrate this beautiful time of year! The grass is green, the flowers are in bloom, and there are many springtime Helen attractions for both visitors and locals to enjoy. If you aren’t sure where to go to get the most out of the seasonal events, it’s no problem!

Below is a quick guide to lead you to a few Helen attractions that are sure to put a little extra “spring” in your step as you have a blast on your northern Georgia vacation.

Springfest at the Festhalle l Helen Festhalle

In late April, the people of Helen officially gear up for spring with the Corvair Springfest, and visitors are more than welcome to join in on the celebration! The Festhalle is one of many Helen attractions, as it is a communal gathering place where people from near and far can gather together and have fun. During Springfest, you get the opportunity to welcome the new life of Spring while enjoying music and dancing, food, and drinks.

Friends of Unicoi Annual Easter Fun l Unicoi State Park & Lodge

Here comes Peter Cottontail! Friends of Unicoi are making Easter “eggstra” special by organizing an annual Easter egg hunt and day of fun for kids of all ages. The event will take place at the scenic Unicoi State Park (a Helen attraction of its own). Children are divided by age group before they embark on a search for eggs and fun surprises. Parents have a blast watching the little ones scurry about looking for treats while taking in the spectacular sites of the gorgeous park on a Spring morning. When the hunt has come to an end, the fun continues. Take a nice hayride with your family and friends or assist your children as they get creative with organized arts and crafts.

Eggstravaganza & Rabbit Palooza l North Georgia Zoo

Have you ever found yourself wondering where the Easter Bunny lives? The answer is the North Georgia Zoo and Petting Farm. Located just a short jaunt from downtown Helen, the zoo puts on an annual “eggstrodinary” springtime event in the Easter season. Expect the unexpected from this festive, seasonal Helen attraction. You and your little one can follow the bunny trail and visit the rabbit pen. You’ll get to touch and pet the fluffy critters as you learn all about the different types of bunny rabbits. Can you figure out which one is responsible for delivering Easter treats? When you’re finished visiting the bunnies, be sure to purchase an Easter basket and set off on a hunt for as many eggs as your basket can hold! As you search, you’ll come upon a wide variety of animals including newborn baby chicks! You may even decide to take a break and ride on the back of a donkey. The best part is that you get to redeem your full basket for a goody bag. Oh, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for an animal-shaped egg to win an “egg-stra” special prize!

With new life abounding throughout northern Georgia, Spring indeed is the perfect time to renew your spirit as you take in the fresh mountain air, relax, and enjoy the many things to do and seasonal Helen attractions.

Hiking is an obvious highlight. There are easy trails in Unicoi State Park, suitable for the whole family, from tiny tots to seniors. River Tubing

River tubing is one of the most exhilarating things to do in Helen Georgia, especially in the cold waters of Spring. Smooth it most certainly isn’t, but judging from the whoops and grins of visitors as they cruise down the Chattahoochee on their inflatables, it’s a thrilling ride. It’s best experienced when the river is relatively high, which isn’t a problem during Spring Break.
