Sometimes, however, you may be looking for something else to do on your North Georgia mountains cabin vacation. Perhaps you're trying to find a way to beat the hot Georgia heat or you're looking for something new to do on your next vacation. A great way to keep you and your family entertained is to catch a movie or a live show at one of the many theaters in North Georgia.

This local community theater is located in Blue Ridge, GA and is proud of its tradition of bringing live theater to the North Georgia mountains. Founded in 2000, this year marks its thirteenth year of productions and the upcoming fall and winter season may be its best yet! "Vincent" by Leonard Nimoy will be on stage September 20 - October 7 and is the story of brotherly love between famed artist VIncent Van Gogh and his brother Theo. "Over the River and Through the Woods" is scheduled to be staged November 22 through December 9 and is a hilarious story of love, family, and commitment.  

Plays run for three weeks are and are staged on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 pm with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 706-632-9223. Tiger Drive-In Movie Theater
A drive in theater is quintessentially American; a movie on the screen, popcorn in your hand, and a family enjoying time together under the stars. The Tiger Drive-In Movie Theater provides this special experience to those visiting a North Georgia mountains cabin. Located in Tiger, GA it is just a short drive from our luxury rental cabins in Helen, GA. This drive-in was originally opened by the Wilson family in 1954 and was shuttered in the 1980's. It was reopened in 2004 by the original owners' daughter as a way to provide the North Georgia area with the same joy of movie going she experienced as a child.

The theater is open Fridays and Saturdays with a double feature beginning at 8:30.  Sunday nights bring only one movie to the drive-in, but just as much fun. The Box Office and Grill open at 6:30 so you can come early to find the perfect spot and enjoy something to eat before the shows begin. Guests 12 and older are charged a $7.00 admission, children aged 4 to 11 are $4.00, and toddlers 3 and under are free. The Holly Theater
The historic Holly Theater is located in Dahlonga and is a perfect outing for visitors enjoying a vacation in a North Georgia mountains cabin. The relaxed atmosphere of the theater makes it ideal to enjoy a live show with the entire family. It is a small theater and prides itself that no seat in the house is farther than 20 feet from the performers. "Anthe holly theater Evening with Mark Twain" is scheduled to be performed October 26 and features Kurt H. Sutton as interpreter of Twain remarking on his books, stories, opinions, and life. "It's a Wonderful Life" will bring the Christmas Season to the Holly Theater throughout the month of December. The traditional story of George Bailey and his guardian angel are sure to delight both residents and visitors to the North Georgia mountains.

Tickets for most shows are $15.00 but make sure to check the website before you go for exact prices. You can buy tickets online or may contact the box office for tickets and more information. The Holly Theater also sponsors a variety of special events throughout the year that are fun for the entire family.
